JOB REQUIREMENTS: SCOPE OF ROLE The senior accountant will provide the Director of Finance support in financial reporting, financial system upgrades and maintenance, and several costing and efficiency projects. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Duties and Responsibilities Monthly closing of the financial books (JE\'s/reconciliations) and preparation of the reports to management/ownership. Creation of opportunities to streamline and shorten this process. Analyzes variances from budgets and projections, reports for each. Maintains GL. Learn industry taxes and oversee the payment of required taxes (excludes federal and state). Preparation of the annual tax package. Oversight of the annual audit and inventory. Conducts inventory reserve analysis on a quarterly basis and generates reports for management. Cycle counts of inventory as needed. Reviews rates of depreciation, labor, and overhead and to insure accuracy of reporting. Establishes standard product costs. These will need significant updates once in the new building and need annual review and updates (as necessary). In conjunction with inventory and supply chain management, analyzes costs of raw materials and other supplies and creates cost-benefit analyses with vendor management. Working with engineering and operations, analyzes cost changes in product design and new products, including raw materials, labor (productivity), and overhead. Works with team to analyze profitability by product and customer. Provides management with standard reports of findings. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Requirements Bachelor\'s degree in accounting/finance or equivalent.
