About the role

The Hygiene & Sanitation Director will support sites in the implementation and troubleshooting of hygiene best

practice and initiatives. This role will develop effective relationships to enable wet and dry sanitation technical

support and Food Safety risk reduction. In addition to assisting operations with targeted improvements, this position

will provide hygiene practices gap assessments and support corrective action to enable compliance to Kerry

Central policy, corporate hygienic design and safety EHS standards and customer requirements. There will be a minimal of 40% travel for this position.

Key responsibilities

Drive Food Safety risk reduction by providing technical support and guidance to manufacturing sites to

develop world-class validated sanitation systems with verification of critical factors.

Deploy and oversee the implementation of EHS Policies.

Create relationships with Global manufacturing business units and manufacturing sites to integrate robust

hygiene practices into plant operations. Use these relationships to provide learning and transfer of industry

best practices and innovation for wet and dry cleaning, microbiological and allergen control within all zones

of the plant environment.

Develop sanitation training and deliver Global Sanitation and Hygienic design standards for Food Safety

courses.

Provide advice and consultancy to facilities for stored product pest management and facility pest control.

Lead risk based gap prioritisation and support corrective action to enable compliance to Kerry Global

policy.

Support the delivery of Kerry sustainability targets (Water and Carbon) through cleaning optimisation,

design efficiency and observation within facility sanitation audits.

Support proposed capital projects for compliance to corporate hygienic design, food safety and EHS

standards.

Qualifications and skills

Required Education: BSc in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology or

related disciplines.

Minimum of 10 years of Hygiene & Food Safety leadership in a Global Quality role.

Technical knowledge and hands on experience with soil identification/chemical selection, dry clean

methods, COP, CIP, Pest control, allergen management, stored pest management, developing SOPs,

master schedules and verifications with ATP, allergen & microbiological indicators.

Experience in the monitoring and control of environmental pathogens and allergens.

Leadership for compliance of GMP and other regulatory requirements in a manufacturing role.

Demonstrated knowledge of process appropriate hygienic design and sanitation systems design; ability to

provide guidance at a regional level in large and small-scale CAPEX projects.

Quality Systems / pre-requisite program development and execution experience.

Auditing and team corrective action process experience.

Experience with development of prerequisite programs, HACCP, Hazard analysis, risk assessments with

teams.

Investigation techniques to identify cause for reduced shelf life or pathogen risk.

Experience incorporating health, safety and environmental requirements while developing sanitation

systems.

Leadership experience with HACCP, Hazard analysis and risk assessments with teams

Experience dealing with Food service customers an advantage.
