Review, evaluate, and analyze work environment and design programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents or ergonomic factors. May conduct inspections and enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals. Plan, implement, and coordinate safety programs, requiring application of engineering principles and technology, to prevent or correct unsafe working conditions.

• Travel and / or extended or off work hours may be required.

Requirements

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree Occupational Safety or Industrial Hygiene or related field.

Experience

• 5+ years’ experience related to Industrial Safety and Property Loss.

Specialized Knowledge

• Computer software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerPoint).

• Chemistry, Biology, and Physics as it relates to EHS and Property Loss Prevention.

Skills / Abilities

• Coordinating, facilitating, managing, and training of others

Professional Certifications - Preferred

• Certification in Safety (Certified Safety Professional), Industrial Hygiene (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or related field preferred

The ideal candidate will be proactive and dynamic, flexible and receptive to new ideas, down to earth and pragmatic, analytical and attentive to detail. He or she will also be capable of working independently in adherence to regulations, of managing stress and remaining calm under pressure, and be able to demonstrate an inquiring mind and well-developed observational skills. Will demonstrate a sense of responsibility and high professional standards, honesty and integrity, and objectivity. Personal qualities of tack, dependability and ability to work well with others. Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational skills. Ability to work in a team setting. Possess values of ambition and engagement, with simplicity.
