Amazon Sr. Category Manager, Packaging, Global Procurement Operations (GPO) in Bellevue, Washington

Description

We are seeking a Senior Category Manager to strategically source corrugated packaging for United States Fulfillment Center Operations needs. The person in this role will coordinate with several teams across Amazon and will interact with our most important suppliers to satisfy organizational requirements.

The position will support, align, and partner with multiple teams (Operations, Packaging Engineering, Facilities, Finance, Automation, Planning) to develop and execute category sourcing strategies, deliver savings/value and improve productivity across the category.

In this role you will be able to shape the future of e-commerce packaging not only in North America, but globally.

This role can be located in Seattle/Bellevue, WA, Irvine/ San Francisco/San Jose, CA, Tempe, AZ, Nashville, TN, Austin/Houston, TX, Arlington, VA or Washington DC.

Key job responsibilities

  • Identify, develop and deliver long term sourcing strategies, lead key initiatives with cross-functional teams; drive the decision making process of the category roadmap with senior leadership

  • Develop inventory strategies within a high volume product category

  • Drive commercial relationships with suppliers, with a principal objective of achieving optimal cost and performance

  • Lead supplier performance management; including improving sustainability & social responsibility

  • Coordinate and collaborate with global/local teams to deploy and manage the implementation of your defined strategies

  • Influence suppliers’ roadmaps, design, processes, technology decisions and strategies

  • Lead complex and cross-functional projects productivity, sustainability and innovations

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • 5+ years of supply chain experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
