Chewy, Inc. Software Engineer II in Bellevue, Washington

Chewy, Inc. seeks a Software Engineer II at our Bellevue, WA location to develop in-depth knowledge of several Chewy business processes and systems environment. Act in the capacity of a software engineer to actively participate in the definition, design, development, testing and implementation of software functionality using the Agile methodology. Create or modify complex programs, modules, routines, scripts, and data objects from a detailed design where efficiency, performance and reliability are critical. Work with and advise both business and technology teams (internal and external) on how best to implement desired features and enhancements. Ensure that technical solutions follow best practices, are reliable, are easily maintainable and are scalable under sustained load. Collaborate to identify, isolate, and resolve malfunctions related to software. Conduct knowledge transition on solutions to the designated application support team(s). Create and evolve application documentation as required. Operate in compliance with IT standards, policies, procedures, and best practices. Refine our software frameworks, processes, and standards. Review designs, code, implementations and give meaningful feedback that helps others build better solutions. Establish strong working relationships at all organizational levels and across functional teams. Local telecommuting permitted.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, and 3 years of experience. Alternatively, a Master's degree and 1 year of experience. Experience must involve 1 year in the following: the full software development lifecycle; developing applications in web, Cloud, and web-server technologies; at least one of the following programing languages: Java, Kotlin, C++, or C#; working in an agile development environment, collaborating with Application Development and Architecture teams; professional software engineering practices for the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. Experience must also include the following: REST API Development; Relational & Non-relational Database; and Computer Science fundamentals, including object oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Our salary range for a Software Engineer II position is $131,044 to $183,500. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.
