Salary: $182,312 to $227,000 per year

 

Job Duties: Responsible for designing, building, deploying, testing, maintaining, monitoring and owning scalable, resilient and distributed services and data pipelines. Work on observability, instrumentation, monitoring and alerting of distributed systems. Monitor equipment function to ensure systems operate in conformance with specifications. Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt it to new hardware, and upgrade interfaces in order to improve performance. Determine system performance standards. Implement Spark jobs on large scale data sets and define data workflows. Design, develop and modify software systems in order to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design. Determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new systems or modification of an existing system as needed. Build systems using AWS in order to develop software system testing and validation procedures. Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements. Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required or security needs to determine hardware configuration. Remote work permitted within a reasonable commuting distance of the Bellevue, Washington office.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely related field of study and five (5) years of as a Software Engineer, Data Warehouse Consultant, or closely related occupation. Employer will also accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely related field of study and three (3) years of as a Software Engineer, Data Warehouse Consultant, or closely related occupation. Also requires at least 3 years of experience in the following:

 

·      Designing, building, deploying, testing, maintaining, monitoring and owning scalable, resilient and distributed data pipelines;

·      At least two of Scala, Python, Spark or Flink applied to large scale data sets;

·      Workflow management platforms such as AWS step functions or AWS;

·      Advanced SQL;

·      Big data technologies such as Spark, Data Lake, Hive, or NoSQL;

·      Batch and streaming data processing techniques;

·      AWS, EC2 or Lambda;

·      CI/CD tools such as CodeDeploy and Codepipeline to automate building, testing and deployment of data pipelines and to manage the infrastructure;

·      Pulumi, Terraform or CloudFormation;

·      Relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Redshift; and

·      NoSQL databases such as key-value stores like Redis, DynamoDB and Search Engines such as Elasticsearch.
