Salary: $176,640.10 to $206,000.00 per year.

Job Duties: Apply highly specialized knowledge of the Brightscript software language to develop, support and maintain the Roku platform for Discovery+. Address user requests created by product owners or by the team via sprint planning. Triage any possible bugs with current Discovery+ offerings in the United States. Support full software development lifecycle (SDLC) via coding reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations. Develop new software modules for Discovery's ad technology SDK for use by international versions of Discovery+. Apply technical software developer experience to develop Discovery's consumer focused digital products and services. Develop specialized software features specific to the Discovery+ application on the Roku platform, utilizing knowledge of professional software engineering best practices. Support new software modules and provide maintenance and upgrades to existing software modules to ensure continued successful delivery of the Discovery+ application. Apply understanding of Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis to support the full SDLC. Position requires 10% domestic travel. Remote Work Permitted.

 

Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. Discovery Communications, LLC. operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

 

Requirements: At least a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, or a closely related field of study and two years of experience as a Lead Engineer, Software Engineer Intern, Software Engineer, or closely related occupation. Also requires at least 2 years of experience in the following:

·        Developing software applications with AWS services;

·        Full software development lifecycle (SDLC) support;

·        Developing software using Brighscript language for Roku platforms;

·        Developing ad technology via streaming platforms; and

·        Developing data structures and algorithms.
