Amazon Software Delivery Manager, Shopping Delivery Experience in Bellevue, Washington

Description

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead Amazon's highest-impact, largest-scale delivery programs. Responsibilities include driving projects from design to release, defining program roadmaps, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, translating business requirements into technical specifications and managing global production launches.

Our team drives complex business problems, leveraging both company-wide platform solutions as well as designing them from the ground up where they don’t exist. Delivery is a key part of the customer experience when shopping on Amazon. If you've ever placed an order with Amazon then you've experienced some of Amazon's delivery programs. We build global technology solutions that scale to millions of customers. We innovate on behalf of customers to delight them and address their pain points.

This technology leader will be responsible for building the next generation shopping experience and systems in order to provide a world-class Checkout Delivery experience. You will be owning set of technologies (full-stack) leveraging AWS and common industry standards. You will be leading a talented cross-functional tech organization including software engineers, technical program managers and QA. You will develop highly scalable, low latency, intelligent software that will have a massive impact for customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience

  • 7+ years of engineering experience

  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

  • Experience in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between

  • Experience delivering products against plan in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined, distributed-responsibility and often ambiguous environment

  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $148,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
