Amazon Senior Supply Chain Manager, Aircraft Powerplant Maintenance, Amazon Air in Bellevue, Washington

Description

Amazon Air is seeking individuals to identify and develop game-changing air transportation solutions for Amazon’s middle-mile transportation network, with the goal of improving our customers’ experience.

This Senior Supply Chain Manager position will be part of the Fleet, Aviation Sourcing & Technical (FAST) group which is an organization responsible for all areas of strategic procurement and aircraft technical operations across the entire Global Amazon Air organization.

The responsibilities include but not limited to supporting the execution of aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) strategic plans for Amazon Air’s global fleet in collaboration with cross-functional leaders, including sourcing strategy integration, Request for Proposal (RFP) management, proposal evaluation, supplier selection, contract negotiation and contract management in support of aircraft powerplant heavy maintenance, spare engine and auxiliary power unit (APU) procurement or lease, and other business requirements. In addition, this leader will collaborate closely with powerplant operations team, finance, legal, air carriers and other teams to integrate sourcing requirement, establish and maintain effective, healthy, performance-driven supplier relationships, engage regularly with suppliers to ensure contractual commitments are met, and leverage in-depth product and industry knowledge to deliver optimal supply chain solutions and cost-savings for Amazon Air.

Key job responsibilities

  • Execute multi-year strategic plans for powerplant supply base development that provides Amazon Air a competitive advantage in its powerplant maintenance program and meets the organization’s financial objectives

  • Develop and maintain positive relationship with supplier leadership and internal stakeholders of all levels

  • Lead maintenance sourcing projects, including work scope integration, supplier proposal solicitation, contract negotiation and contract award

  • Develop robust process for proposal analysis, valuation modeling, improve data driven decision-making capabilities

  • Lead the business case development and presentation, whitepaper draft, and senior leadership communication

  • Lead/Participate in supplier performance reviews, manage supplier contracts, resolve contract related issues

  • Identify new opportunities to improve process, systems, and capabilities, and to expand customer offering

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • 5+ years of supply chain experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
