Description

We are building the future of AI assistance with Generative AI (AGI) advancements. Team AIX, Alexa AI Product Excellence is hiring a Principal Technical Program Manager to lead program releases. This position requires an experienced, customer-obsessed leader capable of leading and managing a cross organizational program, diving-deep, working through ambiguity, forging cross-discipline relationships, and influencing senior leaders and executives across all of Alexa. This position has a direct impact on customers and developers, and advances our business.

Key job responsibilities

-Operate a large scale program with science, engineering, product and design developing towards a customer bar that you will help to define and own

-Establish the right mechanisms to operate and inspect at scale

-Identify opportunities for simplification; invent methods to drive efficiencies in development.

  • Interface with science and engineering leaders to help stitch together technologies into meaningful offerings for customers.

-Drive business and system-level reviews, align development teams toward coherent technology strategies and effective engineering processes

-Work with all levels of leadership to build consensus, and represent complex decisions, trade-offs, and potential solutions, verbally and in writing to SVPs to understand the decisions they need to make and the options they have

-Set organization priorities, system owners, business direction

A day in the life

In this role you will be primary in coordinating and delivering cross-org releases, including both science and engineering innovations. You will keep the tempo and focus across dozens of development teams, by establishing robust mechanisms and driving clarity and throughput. You will ensure releases meet a high customer bar and that an end-to-end experience is delivered with cohesiveness.

Our team is a unique change agent team that pairs a deep bench of seasoned product leaders with strong TPMs to deliver across the breadth of Alexa. We encourage a leader who is strong at building relationships and working horizontally. Ability to influence without direct authority critical. Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of engineering experience

  • 7+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 5+ years of software development experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $141,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
