Amazon ML Data Associate, Applied AI in Bellevue, Washington

Description

The Applied AI data ops team is looking for a passionate, hard-working, and creative candidate to join our data operations team as an ML Data Associate. This position offers an exciting introduction to Amazon store business and AI technology, and provides a training ground for success.

You will primarily be responsible for driving increased data quality and solving challenging operational business goals. You will utilize data and execute different Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to help develop scalable, long-term solutions which will have a significant impact on business teams.

Our environment is fast-paced, and requires someone who is a self-starter, detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working with multiple teams, partners, and management. The candidate should be clear and use data to drive their communication with stakeholders. The candidate should be able to resolve issues with limited guidance.

Key job responsibilities

  • Create, label and curate the data for AI/ML products

  • Verify information by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or re-entering data; combines data from multiple systems when information is incomplete; purges files to eliminate duplication of data

  • Translating established guidelines into daily work practices

  • Handling unique data analysis requests from a range of data customers

  • Contributing to process improvements to reduce handling time and improve output

In addition, the Data Associate will need to quickly understand changes to conventions deployed in response to customers’ requests and change workflows accordingly. The Associate should be able to contribute to improvements in the software tools by identifying bugs and suggesting enhancements. The Data Associate must have a passion for data, efficiency, and accuracy as well as show proactive behavior in addressing issues and problems.

We build reusable solutions to make knowledge operations work more efficient and enable our teams to focus on the most creative and critical decision-making work, while raising the quality bar for outcomes. Basic Qualifications

  • One or more years’ Performing tasks according to SOPs

  • Excellent proficiency in US English, both verbal and written skills

  • Working knowledge of computers

  • Excellent communication, strong organizational skills and very detailed-oriented

  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly collaborative, dynamic work environment

  • Willingness to support several projects at one time, and to accept reprioritization as necessary

  • Ability to keep up with changing project conventions and new projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

  • Practical knowledge of data processing needs and trade-offs

  • Previous annotation experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $31,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $51,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
