BYTEDANCE INC. Lead Data Scientist (Multiple Positions) in Bellevue, Washington

Responsibilities

  • Develop long-range business forecast models and run scenario analysis to understand the implications of a variety of business decisions on key metrics and share the insights with crossfunctional team to influence strategic decisions.
  • Develop analytic framework in partnership with internal teams to quantify business impact, diagnose issues, and to bring insights using internal and external data.
  • Define core metrics, build essential data tracking dashboard, and identify opportunities from our database and convert the insights into real changes/new features.
  • Translate complex data insights into actionable business recommendations, fostering strong collaborations with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Conduct experimentations to analyze user behavior and optimize for the best outcome regarding core metrics.
  • Manage multiple data science projects from ideation to execution, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints and alignment with business objectives.
  • Maintain an advanced understanding of data science methodologies and tools, continually integrating cutting-edge technologies and practices to enhance team capabilities and project outcomes.
  • Apply quantitative analysis, experimentation, data mining, and the presentation of data to develop strategies for our products.
  • Apply quantitative analysis to understand data, provide actionable insights, and measure the data through experimentation and causal inference.
  • Work with large, complex data sets to solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems by applying advanced analytical methods as needed.

     

Qualifications

Must have a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, Information Systems Management, Data Science, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, or a related quantitative field, and 3 years of related work experience; OR a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, Information Systems Management, Data Science, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, or a related quantitative field, and 6 years of related work experience, out of which 5 years must be post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience.

 

Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience in each of the following:

  • Conducting forecasting and experiment analysis with presentations through visual displays of quantitative information, using visualization tools Tableau and Excel;
  • Researching and developing analyses, forecasting, and optimization methods to improve product quality using SQL, time series, and causal inference experiments;
  • Analyzing and visualizing complex data using Python and Tableau to gain insights for product strategies;
  • Conducting exploratory and predictive analysis using Python, R, and Scala programming languages;
  • Developing graphical and visual representations of data using business intelligence tool Excel or Tableau; and
  • Building, tuning, and validating statistical models for regression and classification problems in Python and R.

     

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: Domestic travel up to 20% required.
