Pistol Creek Building Maintenance Technician in Bellevue, Washington

Position Summary:

The Building Technician will maintain managed properties, perform repairs, or complete projects as assigned. Work will be approximately 75% hands on and in the field, and 25% office work. This role maintains primarily several commercial sites but will work on a total of 20 mixed-use properties in the Seattle/Bellevue area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist staff and contractors with maintenance and/or projects as assigned.
  • Identify and recommend maintenance or safety needs through company process.
  • Coordinate, organize and execute specific tasks as directed.
  • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools.

Required Competencies:

  • Valid Driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Resourceful problem-solving skills.
  • Safe and effective operation of hand/power tools, and light equipment.
  • Understand and use proper Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Prudent and responsible use of company funds, equipment, and resources.
  • Ability to complete assigned work and report results.
  • Self-starter able to effectively organize and prioritize multiple tasks and schedules.
  • Ability and willingness to follow instructions.
  • Effective communication skills.
    • Succinct and prompt email/text responses.
    • Clear verbal communication style.

Preferred Experience and/or Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of building systems, construction methods, and property management practices.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word/Excel programs.
  • Property Management experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Willing to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Able to lift 50lbs occasionally, and up to 100 on rare occasions.
  • Walking mobility for stairs, rough terrain, and distances up to several miles.
  • Safely use ladders as required.
