David Evans and Associates Bridge Engineer-in-Training in Bellevue, Washington

DEA's Seattle, Bellevue, Olympia, and Tacoma, WA offices are seeking a Bridge Engineer-in-Training to support transportation and transit related projects. A successful candidate will have knowledge of LRFD bridge design practices and seismic design criteria. In this role you will perform structural analyses and develop design calculations using AASHTO and other design codes for different bridge, transportation and transit structural systems. Additionally, a successful candidate will have knowledge of bridge field inspection and reporting practices. Typical projects will include a variety of timber, concrete, and steel bridges, along with retaining walls and sound walls. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Organize information for use in project documents Assist with bridge projects by creating concept reports, and Type, Size and Location reports Assist with the development of engineering drawing details Develop engineering quantity and cost estimates Assist with the development of project specifications Review contractor submittals during construction Perform condition inspections of existing bridges Generate and edit bridge inspection reports Assist with bridge rehabilitation and maintenance projects Develop load rating calculations and reports Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering 0-4 years of applicable bridge engineering experience Licensed Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Knowledge in drafting software applications such as Microstation, AutoCAD or Civil 3D Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with a heavy emphasis on Excel and Word Physically able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions Applicant must have a valid driver's license and clear motor vehicle report Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering K nowledge of AASHTO and representative state DOT bridge design standards Proficiency current structural design software applications, with an emphasis on bridge design software, such as SAP2000, LARSA 4D, PG Super, Conspan or LPile Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability and Life Insurance Health Savings and Lifestyle Spending Account with employer contribution Support for continuing education and training opportunities Paid Time Off (PTO)/Holiday Pay 401k and Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) Flexible 9/80 (every other Friday off) work schedule Holistic Wellbeing Program with a focus on physical, emotional, financial, career and community health Opportunity for growth with support and mentoring to help with professional goals Potential salary range for this position is $70,000-$104,000 depending on experience and location Hybrid friendly work schedule Transportation Jobs with DEA The increasing complexities of modern transportation include growing demands, aging infrastructure, rising costs, funding challenges, and environmental concerns.
