Electrical & Instrumentation Tech Position Summary: Installs repairs and removes various instruments and their component parts in an efficient manner with respect to safety, quality, and sanitation. Provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of Production. Hourly rate ranges from $34.84 - $37.44 based on experience and qualifications. Core Functions: Install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, automated, and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to PLCs, transmitters, power supplies, drives, gauges, and test equipment. Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment. Conducts electrical preventative maintenance, and programming for process logic control systems (PLC's) platforms, instrumentation, and human-machine interfaces (HMI) Installs repairs and calibrates electronic to pneumatic converters or pneumatic to electronic converters or a combination of both. Repairs electronic equipment instruments such as ultrasonic, radar, and other conventional level controls. Repairs and calibrates temperature sensing instruments with capillary and bulb, instruments with thermocouple and electric output and resistive temperature detectors (RTD's) Responsible for maintaining all automation throughout the facility (electric circuits of 110VAC or less) Ability to read and understand ladder logic is required. Troubleshoot, locate, test, identify, or diagnose electrical malfunction and then adjust, repair, or replace on a variety of AC and DC circuits. Be prepared to work a flexible, 8-, 10-, or 12-hour schedule that will include off shifts and weekends. Works on-call status as required based on rotating schedule. Other duties as assigned. Skill/Experience Requirements: High School diploma or GED equivalent required. 2-3 years of equivalent experience programming, troubleshooting, and repairing PLC's (Siemens PCS7/WinnCC/505 Workshop, Rockwell/Allen Bradley, IFIX) and distributive control systems preferred. High degree of precision working with minimum tolerances required. Comprehension of electrical schematics, blueprints, and P&ID drawings. Experienced in different brands of variable frequency drives. Experienced with maintenance, set-up, and calibration of all types of process instrumentation. Familiar with mass flow meters, pressure transmitters, temperature transmitters, burner control systems and other like equipment found in an automated plant required. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to work in a safety conscious environment. Good written and verbal communications skills Ability to work overtime as needed.
