Bellefonte Area School District K-12 Behavior Intervention Specialist in BELLEFONTE, Pennsylvania

The Bellefonte Area School District is accepting applications for the position of a behavior intervention specialist.  This  position will require an individual with the skills and knowledge to assist individuals, groups, and systems through the application of positive behavior supports. The Behavior Specialist will help coordinate Functional Assessments of Behavior and Positive Behavior Support Plans; provides training and works collaboratively with administration, teachers, and paraeducators to enhance instruction for regular and special education students with social, communication, behavioral, and learning challenges; and do other related work as required.

Requirements:

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in education, social work or psychology                    

Preferred: Master's degree, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) certification, or Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or willingness to pursue certification and training.  

Experience:

Minimum: Classroom or school-based experience, demonstrated understanding of principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports

 

This position is in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
