Job Summary CenterPoint Energy is looking for Senior SMS Quality Specialist or SMS Quality Specialist to join our Safety and Technical Training Team, located in Evansville, Anderson, Sellersburg, or Muncie, Indiana or Bellefontaine, Centerville, Fairborn, or Troy OH. You will have the ability to: Measures and monitors conformance with operational and asset safety requirements to maximize public, asset, and employee safety and mitigate risks associated with installation, operation, and maintenance activities. Builds strong partnerships throughout the organization including the gas and electric business and other support departments. Essential Functions Evaluates asset and process safety and operational risks and their mitigation plans. This includes evaluating asset and process safety culture, gathering and reviewing data to assess risk and operational controls, supporting execution of quality assurance test plans, and confirming progress and completion of corrective action plans. Collaborates with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to manage multiple complex and high priority assignments with long term view and high impact to company. Communicates in a timely fashion with other employees and departments, at various locations, regarding data gathering, risk identification, safety concerns, and escalation of specific issues as necessary. Reviews documentation for completeness with requirements in a timely manner and communicating incident and risk related data across all levels of the organization. Monitors progress on key aspects of Quality Assurance and Quality Control, analyzes and thinks critically while completing evaluations and data review with attention to detail, including accuracy and consistency, and manages files and documentation in a structured format. Executes quality assurance testing plans with recommended sampling and inspection standards Facilitates risk discussions and risk analysis events to identify hazards and operational controls. Facilitates learning events, such as after-action reviews and root causes analyses, for process deficiencies and incidents encountered during asset installation, operations, and maintenance. This includes identifying opportunities for improvement and the completion of learning event summaries. Develops and executes quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts, including support of continuous improvement projects within gas and electric operations and support organizations. Measures the effectiveness of operational and asset safety risk management. Engages and maintains relationships with stakeholders at all levels within the company as a risk expert to identify and mitigate operational risks and represents CenterPoint Energy in industry groups and committees. Education Description Requires a Bachelor's degreefrom an accredited college or university.
