COUNTY OF LOGAN CHILD WELFARE SOCIAL SERVICES WORKER-ONGOING in Bellefontaine, Ohio

 

Child Protection Agency is seeking highly motivated individuals to become child welfare casework professionals to support our core mission of protecting children by strengthening families.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provision of Case Management Services to assigned caseload of families. Assess each child and family's strengths, needs, goals and objectives involving the family in the development of a written case plan. Maintain contact with the family during home visits providing supportive services.
  • Involve service providers in case planning and throughout the process of the case.
  • Prompt completion of required paperwork and documentation in accordance with agency policy and procedures.
  • Prepare for and attend Court hearings providing testimony when needed.
  • Timely transfer of cases between units with completion of required paperwork and home visit with caseworkers.
  • Represent the Agency to the community and to service providers.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services related area. Salary commensurate with experience and education.
  • Clean Driving Record
  • Ability to establish rapport, trust, and ethical boundaries with service population
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to properly and accurately document case notes and files
  • Ability to apply sound judgement when making decisions
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimum supervision
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize competing tasks
  • Strong people and interpersonal skills with the ability to apply compassion and empathy, while dealing with stressful and difficult situations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
