Industrial Electrician, Belledune, New Brunswick

When you join our team as a Industrial Electrician , you will support the mill to run smoothly by ensuring everything has a place and that the yard and sawmill are clean. Working in a sawmill, you'll discover that they do more than transform forest products, they also transform our communities.

What You'll Do

  • Perform daily checks (continuity, current, voltage and resistance) and diagnostics on equipment.

  • Repair, install and test the equipment. (Transformers, regulators, motors, generators, electrical control system).

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks.

  • Interpret the requirements of the electrical code and ensure compliance.

  • Responding to emergencies during breakdown.

  • Perform any other relevant tasks requested by the supervisor.

What You Offer

  • College degree in Instrumentation/Control or a degree of professional studies recognized for certified Electrician.

  • Journeyman's certificate would be an asset

  • At least two years of experience in an industrial environment, preferably in a timber complex.

  • Sawmill and/or planer experience will be considered an asset.

  • Electrical/industrial control technology and/or equivalent experience with programmable logic controllers and variable frequency drives;

  • Availability to work day, evening or night shifts (weekdays or weekends).

  • Efficient, methodical and orderly.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Team player with initiative.

  • Analytical, conscientious and flexible.

  • High-performance, but safe (compliance with applicable standards).

  • Bilingualism would be an asset
