Keystone Engineering is currently seeking a Piping Designer to work onsite at a client facility in the New Orleans / Belle Chasse Area.

Essential Functions:

  • Work Full-Time onsite at a client facility in the New Orleans/Belle Chasse Area.

  • Support piping design and drafting for multiple engineers within a Capital Projects Group.

  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations staff on design development and installation details.

  • Provide total delivery of piping and mechanical deliverables for MOC's and IFC packages.

  • Perform precise field data collection of dimensions, reference points, and existing installations to ensure accuracy during fabrication and construction.

  • Have strong background in piping systems, drafting standards, and relevant codes.

  • Be able to utilize 3-D Modeling Tools to generate deliverables.

  • Act as a point of contact for contractors performing installations during plant outages and help resolve issues.

  • Provide edits/updates in AutoCAD to plant documentation such as P&ID's, Plot Plans, etc.

  • May be asked to use AutoCAD to support other design disciplines besides piping/mechanical.

  • Ensure all drawings are prepared using client standards for completeness, and overall quality, and follow document control procedures.

  • Must be a self-starter and understand project workflow to meet schedules.

  • Follow all plant safety requirements to work onsite.

    Requirements:

  • Prefer AS in Drafting Technology.

  • 5-10 years of design/drafting experience in the piping/mechanical discipline.

  • Hands on experience with AutoCAD and CADWorx

  • Innovative thinker with skills using Blue Beam, Photo Imports, and other media for different functions.

  • Aptitude for understanding technical & construction terminology

  • Strong Written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-motivated, creative, organized, and solution advocate

  • Attention to detail

  • Able to make field trips and climb in structures, if needed

  • Applicant must be currently authorized to work in the U.S for any employer

  • Applicant must possess a current, valid TWIC card

    Preferred:

  • AS or BS Degree from Accredited Institution

  • Field Construction experience coupled with CAD Skills

  • Prior experience obtained from onsite assignments and/or engineering firm positions
