Quiddity Survey Crew Chief in Bellaire, Texas

  • Responsible for setting up and completing jobs by supervising field survey crews and directing the flow of work in the field to perform various types of surveys, including construction layout, boundary, and topographic surveys. Effectively manages the time of crew(s) to meet project schedules.

  • Operates and troubleshoots Survey measuring instruments, including levels, GPS equipment, and total stations with electronic data collecting capabilities.

  • Provides leadership and training to junior staff to develop skills. Teaches the correct use of equipment, field procedures, and survey control checks. Supports provides guidance and follows company, job, and safety standards to ensure compliance, addressing and correcting issues on time.

  • Performs limited office duties, including data reduction, field notes, calculations, data checks, and staking computations using a survey computer. Participates in the team to maintain office environment and ensure vehicles are in good order. Responsible for checking and submitting survey crew time sheets.

  • Acts as the company contact and survey representative with owners, city employees, pipeline companies, or other clients. Gathers information, answers when able, and refers appropriately.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED, or a minimum of 3 years of active field survey work (boundary, topographic, and/or construction), and at least 1 year in a Lead role; and

  • Experience with Robotic instruments and GPS; and

  • Valid TX driver’s license and insurable driving record; and

  • Pass a standard drug test.
