Holycode Senior Java Developer - Aktiia team in Belgrade, Serbia

We are currently looking for an experienced Java Developer for our client Aktiia. 

Aktiia was founded out of a passion to create the best solution for the diagnosis and management of high blood pressure. 

We are venture-backed startup that has developed and brought to market the world’s first continuous blood pressure monitor. Our technology is based on 15+ years of research by our founders at the prestigious Swiss research institution, CSEM.  Aktiia's solution has been validated through extensive clinical trials and received the CE Mark as a Class IIa medical device giving us access to 43 countries worldwide. To support our accelerating revenue growth and ambitious product roadmap, we are seeking a Java Developer to join our team. Challenging things you’ll work on:

  • Implement new features for our backend

  • Setup servers in a way to support microservice architecture

  • Take ownership of specific feature implementations and produce structured, easy to read and efficient code

  • Write unit tests and verify your code against defined test cases

  • Participate in code review meetings and ensure timely delivery of high-quality code

  • Discuss possible implementations with lead developers and contributes to the overall design and the architecture of our backend

  • Estimate development efforts and do sprint planning together with the team

  • Keep track of your work and make sure to follow Aktiia’s development process

  • Plan releases together with the team and support the release of backend services

Your contribution to the team includes:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a related field

  • 5+ years of working experience as a backend developer

  • Good knowledge about software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms

  • Experience in the following technologies/tools: Java, MySQL, MongoDB, Spring, AWS(ECS, S3, SQS...), React or Angular

  • Understanding of software development lifecycles in a regulated industry with experience in medical device software development is a big plus

  • Willingness to work flexibly, in an interdisciplinary and international environment, depending on the current project status

  • Strong analytical skills and process-oriented work style with a structured, independent approach to work and focus on getting things done

  • Fluency in English (French and other European languages are a plus)
