Role Summary

This position is accountable for rolling out IT solutions to support the start-up of new plants as well as upgrading the IT infrastructure for existing plants, based on Magna IT standards. The project manager will support business activities in the region for any IT and business process-related topics. They will also provide subject matter expertise for the relevant domains and coordinate with all the key stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes on assigned initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the global GF/BF services in the region (IT service and process-related topics).

  • Support the business through GF/BF, M&A, and downturn/closure activities (e.g. fulfill legal requirements for data retention) in the region for any IT and business process-related topics.

  • Create and maintain project budgets and manage cost & revenue.

  • Support business in hiring proper IT personnel and provide relevant training.

  • Support for sales and transitional services.

  • Reporting responsibility to Business, BRMs, and Magna IT Management.

  • Track and monitor performance of processes & services within the region.

  • Manage the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of GF/BF methodology/processes/solutions in the region.

  • Coordinate internal and external parties in projects, as well as report to Global IT Management and group BRMs.

  • Support continuous improvement of methodology, processes, and services within the region.

  • Project evaluations and assessment of results.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ progressive experience planning and implementing IT initiatives with cross-functional stakeholders from IT and business groups.

  • Knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of project management and organizational change management.

  • IT infrastructure and ERP knowledge, with strong or acquired knowledge of automotive manufacturing principles.

  • Project management and supervisory principles and practices to supervise project staff and coordinate multiple complex projects under pressure to meet, schedule, and budget commitments.

  • Negotiation skills and political acuity to ensure that conflicts and project & stakeholder requirements are managed, to ensure a successful outcome.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Excellent understanding of MS Office.

  • MS Project experience is an asset.

  • Very good professional English communication skills – written and oral.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Planning, organizing and decision making.

  • Influencing, leading and delegation.

  • Ability to work well with a team and manage conflict.

  • Adaptability and stress tolerance.

  • MS Project experience is an advantage.

Knowledge and Education

  • Completion of a degree in Computer Science or Business Administration – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.

  • Project management professional (PMP) designation or training/experience deemed equivalent.

Additional Information

• International overnight travelling (35% to 50%)
