CACI is looking for a Computer Vision focused Software Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in either Belgrade, Montana, Sterling, Virginia or Denver, Colorado. The Software Engineer’s primary duties will be to work with our optic product line to improve upon computer vision based algorithms that run onboard our optics. This work will include working in linux environments to develop, test, and deploy new algorithms to perform different mission sets. The Software Engineer will aid in the troubleshooting of video processor systems and overall product improvement from a software perspective.

This roll will involve working with a global team of engineers to produce designs that work well within shared architecture. Development work will include work on all levels of CACI'S’s gimbal products and fully integrated systems. This role also will work to integrate new features to our optical processing including existing AI/ML based techniques.

Outstanding candidates should have strong knowledge of image processing and classical computer vision techniques. This individual must also be able to work with a diverse team and be capable of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, the successful candidate will need to have to ability to learn quickly with on-the-job training and be able to apply skills quickly after learning them.

More About the Role

  • Collaborate with team members to determine best solutions to client requirements for our gimbal product line software

  • Work with the global software team to design and implement software for use with the existing product line.

  • Work with various groups throughout CACI to pull in new feature sets and software products to work with our Gimbal Product Line

  • Work with various engineering disciplines to understand, troubleshoot, and develop new features for CACI'S’s complete gyro-stabilized gimbal and integrated system product line.

  • Work on improvements to existing video processing products across our products

  • Develop new integrations and algorithms for edge compute video processing technology

  • Develop new Computer Vision algorithms to meet a wide variety of problem sets

You’ll Bring These Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in Computer Vision or Image Processing

  • Proficiency in C++ and understanding of C, and interfacing with C libraries from C++ Experience working in Linux build environments

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

  • Effective Interpersonal and Communication skills – both written and verbal

  • Experience with object tracking algorithms

  • Experience using git for version control.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have

  • Experience using Eigen C++ Library for linear algebra

  • Experience using linux in embedded environments

  • Knowledge of linux kernel development and modification

  • Experience with free-standing embedded development

  • Experience with GitLab

  • Familiar with networking and experience writing socket code

  • Experience applying state of the art deep learning techniques to real world problems

  • Experience with Modern C++ (C++17 and beyond)

  • Python Experience

  • Mulit-object tracking experience is preferred

  • Experience with Kalman or particle filters

  • Experience applying computer vision algorithms and techniques to optical data in different light frequency bands

Pay Range: The proposed salary range for this position is $70,900-$$148,900. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
