Amazon is seeking a proactive and result oriented Accounting Manager to help build Global Statistical Reporting Hub (GSR) based in Beijing. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with worldwide Amazon accounting teams to ensure high quality and timely deliverables in the statutory and financial compliance space. This role should have a solid understanding of financial statements, tech backgrounds of finance/accounting related automation projects, excellent communication and organization skills, including the ability to anticipate, identify and communicate risks to business stakeholders, as well as a passion to continuously enhance processes.

Key job responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Working closely with business partners across globally (APAC, EMEA, LATAM and NORAM), to maintain efficient and compliant accounting processes, and identify process improvement opportunities;

• Collaborating closely with Accounting, PMO and our Technology teams to drive standardization and automation globally;

• Assisting local accounting teams in statistical reporting process;

• Assisting in the preparation of various deliverables to support both internal and external financial reporting needs, including analytic commentary and the preparation of supplementary financial analysis for compliance purpose;

• Assisting in developing scalable solutions to the improvement opportunities and making sure the statistical reports are delivered in a consistent and robust way.

Basic Qualifications

  • University degree in business/economics/accounting;

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, SQL, Python, Alteryx, BlackLine, etc.

  • Above 8 years of experience with an emphasis on accounting, preferably, gained within an accounting firm or a medium to large international company, in a fast-paced and changing environment;

  • Experience working with IFRS or US GAAP and in the preparation of financial statements;

  • Demonstrable ability to work to tight deadlines on critical projects;

  • Detail-oriented yet able to reflect on and understand the big picture;

  • Fluent in business English, both verbal and written;

  • Must be comfortable working in cross-functional teams and in a fast-paced company.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Oracle Financial Applications;

  • Hold CPA or similar credentials;

  • Experience in project management with exposure to Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and software testing;

  • Strong priority management skills;

  • Strong communication skills.
