Shift: 1st Shift, Monday - Friday 7am - 3pm

Job Summary: Operate horizontal power feed milling machines to mill snowplow blades. This position works under the supervision of the Supervisor - Manufacturing, or in his/her absence. Duties are performed without constant supervision. Assignments are made daily, and results are reviewed daily or as needed.

Key Job Responsibilities: Safety: Perform pre-operation checks for both individual machines and work area. Perform safety inspections required for individual machines and associated equipment (i.e. fork trucks, cranes, hoists. Production: Set-up and operate mill and shear. Set-up and operate drill and punch presses. Set-up and operate brazing equipment to braze various products. Assemble carbide to blades for braze process. Inspect, paint, straighten, and package finished product. Changes tools, adjusts and/or sets up shears, or milling machines, including selecting proper cutters, determining feeds and speeds, and replacing cutters when dull as required. Assist other operators as needed. Quality: Inspect parts to meet established ISO requirements Delivery: Support functions and changeovers to meet established due dates Cost: Responsible for tracking and problem solving of the materials used and efficient equipment used to reduce cost. Inventory: Responsible for management of WIP and components (i.e., carbide, braze, flux and steel). Perform cycle counts as specified. Lean: Participate in lean events and utilize lean processes in daily duties. TPM: Perform daily required TPM on associated equipment. 5S: Perform daily required 5S activities for work area. Metrics: Perform daily activities associated with gathering and posting established metrics. Data: Accurate and timely recording of required data (i.e. Production, quality etc.

Required Experience: A high school diploma or general equivalency diploma Completion of basic math, blueprint reading and gauge-reading training The ability to understand written and oral instructions and communicate with supervisors and coworkers.
