Position Summary:

Performs laboratory analysis and quality control testing following clearly defined criteria Reports any unusual conditions to the Senior Tech, Coordinator over that area, in the absence of the Director or the Pathologist.

Essential Functions:

Performs common testing procedures and reports test results. Drag Edit Delete

Maintains supplies needed for performance of tests. Drag Edit Delete

Performs collections, clerical duties and administration. Drag Edit Delete

Responsible for order and result entry into laboratory information systems. Drag Edit Delete

Delivers direct patient care appropriate to the age of the patient served

Reports to: Director of Laboratory

Minimum Education Associate degree from an accredited institution as a Medical Laboratory Technician; or equivalent in accordance with the CLIA requirements Required Medical Lab Technician Trainee License is acceptable provided graduation from an accredited Medical Lab Technician Program has been completed and will test within 1 year of hire. Required Skills Licenses: Registry from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent registry and West Virginia State Laboratory Technician licensure OR Medical Lab Technician Trainee License is acceptable provided graduation from an accredited Medical Lab Technician Program has been completed and will test within 1 year of hire.
