Position Summary:

Accountable for providing quality computed tomography studies to include abdominal, pelvic, brain, thorax, skeletal, and vascular anatomy for use by the Radiologist in the diagnosis of patient illness. Administers oral and IV contrast media appropriately

Essential Functions:

Performs CT examinations and procedures as requested by the referring physician and Radiologist and prepares equipment and supplies. Drag Edit Delete

Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Drag Edit Delete

Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. Drag Edit Delete

When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Drag Edit Delete

Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. Drag Edit Delete

Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Drag Edit Delete

Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. Drag Edit Delete

Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Drag Edit Delete

Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Drag Edit Delete

Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Drag Edit Delete

Enters, transmits and reports scan results.

Minimum Education Graduate of school of Radiologic Technology Required Drag Edit Delete

Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Drag Edit Delete

Required Skills Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within the first 30 days after hire. Drag Edit Delete

Required Skills Licenses: ARRT registered in Radiography and WV licensure. (CT registered preferred). CPR Certification. Drag Edit Delete

Minimum Work Experience Minimum of one-year RT experience. Minimum of six months of current CT experience. Must be physically able to stand long hours and lift heavy objects. Preference will be given to Registered CT applicants with experience.
