Vanguard EMS, Inc. SMT Inspection (weekend) in Beaverton, Oregon

The Manufacturing Associate of SMT Inspection is responsible for inspecting the surface mount solderability using IPC standards to assure the quality of product is produced and to stop defects from moving through the factory.

What you’ll do:

  • Inspect boards produced from SMT process as they are processed on the line using microscopes

  • Perform WIP transactions in SMARTer system to ensure traceability of boards at all times

  • Log any defects in the SMARTer system as they are found

  • Communicate quality issues to the SMT team, Manager and Engineer as needed

  • Stop work flow as needed to stop the repeated manufacture of defective products

  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

What you’ll need:

  • Ability to obtain J-STD and IPC certification through Vanguard Training

  • Ability to use microscope and work with small and/or fragile components for extended periods of time

  • Able to work with visual aids, complicated drawings, documentations and numbers

  • Able to cross-train and work in numerous areas

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent

  • 3 months inspection of printed circuit board assemblies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of SMT processes and/or equipment operation

  • IPC 610 CIS Certification and/or J-STD CIS Certification
