Nike Lead, Marketplace Revenue Accounting in Beaverton, Oregon

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Global Marketplace Accounting Lead will be proactive, accountable, collaborative, and curious while providing revenue accounting, internal controls, and financial reporting expertise to the NIKE Marketplace. You will play a critical role in the continued improvement and standardization of wholesale revenue accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting utilizing business partnership skills, a drive and curiosity for process efficiencies, a strong technical accounting background, and an ability to navigate ambiguity.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

  • Evaluating revenue related accounting processes and internal controls across Geographies to continuously identify opportunities for greater efficiency and effectiveness through benchmarking, standardization, centralization, and application of best practices

  • Partnering with Geography teams to evaluate and apply applicable accounting standards and relevant controls to NIKE Marketplace strategies and business plans

  • Producing efficient and effective reporting and business insights for consolidated Accounts Receivable and Sales-related reserves

  • Managing Global revenue recognition processes and internal controls over financial reporting for Revenue related systems and processes

  • Supporting transformational initiatives including system implementations

  • Overseeing tasks performed by our Managed Service Provider (MSP)

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

This role reports to the Director, Marketplace Revenue Accounting and partners closely with NIKE Marketplace Controlling Geography leads along with the Financial Governance and Controls team. Additionally, this role will work with a variety of teams across Controlling and Finance, the global marketplace business, internal and external audit, and other cross-functional business partners as required by initiatives.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of of professional experience in public accounting, industry accounting, finance, or related functions

  • Strong foundation and experience in US GAAP, specifically ASC 606 (Revenue from contracts with customers), and Internal Controls over Financial Reporting

  • Proven ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience, including meeting facilitation and presentations

  • Consistent record of developing high-profile, influential and collaborative relationships across teams, functions and layers, preferably inclusive of navigating a large corporation

  • Transformative, process-oriented, and forward-thinking mindset

  • Experience with ERP accounting and finance systems such as SAP is preferred
