Rexel USA Accounts Payable Manager in Beaverton, Oregon

The position of Accounts Payable Manager will be based out of our Beaverton, OR location!

Summary

The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payments of Trade Payables related to transactions by following the company’s policies and procedures. Will manage average monthly transactions of $90K and total annual disbursements totaling over $2B. The Manager Accounts Payable must also resolve vendor statements and unbilled receipts to ensure accurate and timely resolution for multiple ERP systems.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage daily activities of Accounts Payable staff that includes variance resolution and escalation, disbursements, vendor statements, and unbilled receipts

  • Oversee staff selection, performance management, goal setting, training, and development

  • Evaluate workloads, determine priority, and implement changes to continuously improve productivity and efficiency

  • Ensure staff has a positive and rewarding team environment

  • Perform month end close process for Trade Accounts Payable which includes review of open payables, unapproved transactions, and various general ledger accounts

  • Publish weekly unapproved invoice report including priority, region, branch, invoice amount, and cash discount

  • Publish quarterly reporting for aged debit balances by Vendor and include steps taken for recovery

  • Publish lost discount analysis after each month end close. Identify items resolved after pay date, payback of Net 30, Vendor error, and system term issues

  • Publish monthly bank reconciliations by payment type and supplier, and explain steps taken to reconcile

  • Partner with the Sourcing Team on key working capital initiatives. Review, submit, and approve Pay To vendor maintenance workflows for name, banking updates, and term changes

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, improving accuracy and efficiency while reducing cost

  • Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

  • High School or GED

  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree preferred in Accounting or Finance

  • 7+ years of related experience

  • 2+ years of supervisory experience

  • Experience in managing high-volume complex day-to-day Accounts Payable functions

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to work effectively in large, geographically dispersed business with a centralized Accounts Payable process

  • Advanced Excel experience (Concatenates, V-lookups etc.)

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to lead large teams

  • Ability to work well with all levels of management

  • Strong communication skills

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills

  • Strong initiative; ability to self-manage

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
