REQUIREMENT

The Wright Scholar Research Assistant Program is an Air Force Research Laboratory initiative designed to expose high school juniors and seniors (and select college scholars retained by mentors) to various disciplines of engineering and science to further their interest in future STEM careers with the Department of Defense.

This position is contingent upon award of the Wright Scholars internship Program contract.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Wright Scholars are competitively selected to work as paid research assistants for 8 weeks during the summer.

EDUCATIONAL, CLEARANCE AND CERTIFICATION

  • MUST be 16 years old (by June 1, 2024)
  • U.S. citizen
  • Pass a background check
  • Must have a validated 3.5 GPA and be enrolled in High School, or a recent graduate
  • Must have a valid driver's license (or have access to WPAFB via parent/guardian.

PHYSICAL/WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Primary work environment is a standard office setting.

TRAVEL

  • Travel is not anticipated, but if performed will be under the guidelines of Federal Travel Regulations and/or Joint Travel Regulations.
