Wright-Patt Credit Union Inc. Mortgage Risk Analyst in Beavercreek, Ohio

The Mortgage Risk Analyst is responsible for supporting the Mortgage Risk Manager in development and execution of the company’s enterprise risk management framework and business continuity plan. The Mortgage Risk Analyst will perform risk assessments and business impact analyses to measure the company’s operations against its risk appetite statement. In addition, the Mortgage Risk Analyst will conduct testing of myCUmortgage’s business continuity plan to ensure continuity of operations in the event of a business continuity incident and assist with executing the company’s audit and exam management program. This individual will also assist the Mortgage Risk Manager with monitoring and tracking the effectiveness and testing of all action plans set forth by external and internal audits (including self-identified events), along with performing the CUSO’s regulatory change management and third-party/vendor management (e.g., due diligence requests, quality control/assurance reviews, etc.) processes.

1) Assist in identifying and assessing risks, preparing risk scorecards and reports, and ensuring proper policies, procedures, risk mitigation activities, and operating controls are followed. Write reports to summarize testing activities, including descriptions of goals, planning, scheduling, execution, results, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations. (20%)

2) Participate in planning and executing business continuity testing to ensure the adequacy of existing plans. Reports gaps in policies, procedures, and operating controls to leadership to mitigate risk to the continuity of the company’s operations in the event of a business continuity incident. (20%)

3) Assists with execution of the company’s audit and exam management program, which may include tracking and monitoring, direct interaction with external auditors/examiners, gathering, organizing, and remitting requested documentation to auditors/examiners, and remediation management. (20%)

4) Monitors and tracks the effectiveness and testing of all action plans set forth by external and internal audits (including self-identified events). (10%)

5) Continuously update and maintain the company’s business continuity plan documentation, including but not limited to team rosters, responsibility documents and critical process recovery documents. Assist with implementation of the company’s business continuity plan in the event of a declared business continuity incident. (10%)

6) Perform the CUSO’s regulatory change management and third-party/vendor management (e.g., due diligence requests, quality control/assurance reviews, etc.) processes. (10%)

7) Assist with other Risk Management activities, as needed. (10%)

Required Skills

1) High School Degree required; Associate degree in Business or equivalent work experience is preferred.

2) 1-3 years of previous mortgage experience, preferably in compliance or risk management (one or more of the following: risk assessments, vendor management & due diligence, regulatory change management, business continuity/disaster recovery, audit/exam management, practice/procedure governance, data incident management, action plan governance, or business impact analysis).

3) Related experience maintaining, documenting, testing, and/or auditing plans.

4) Excellent analytical, organizational, time management, creative, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills.

5) Ability to clearly communicate (verbally and written) with internal partners, members, external partners, and third-party vendors.

6) Attention to detail, a great sense of urgency, and the ability to work independently.
