Position Summary:
The Health Educator will provide health education, in a home-based or office setting, to families with young children and/or families that are expecting a child and support/training to Early Head Start staff. The Health Educator reviews child health assessments, conducts health and welfare recommendations and referrals, conducts prenatal and post-natal wellness checks. The Health Educator assures compliance with health components of the "Head Start Performance Standards" and "Head Start Act".
This part-time position works Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
• High School Diploma or GED AND training and experience in public health, nursing, health education, maternal and child health, or health administration.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Must possess a valid driver's license which legally permits operating a motor vehicle in Pennsylvania and reliable transportation and if/when using own vehicle must provide proof of automobile insurance coverage.
Preferred:
• Medical Assistant (MA), Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) OR Registered Nurse (RN).
