Position Summary Details

This role performs a wide variety of plumbing tasks, including inspection, upkeep and repair, in an educational environment.

Essential Functions

  • Provide quality plumbing services under the supervision of the electrical foreman

  • Ensure code compliance through proper installation of plumbing components

Responsibilities

  • Installs, repairs, and maintains pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in educational structures

  • Collaborates with general contractors, electricians, and other construction professionals

  • Follows building plans and blueprints

  • Responds to, diagnoses, and resolves plumbing emergencies

  • Performs routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems

  • Light construction, carpentry, painting, plastering, flooring, ceiling and electrical work as required

  • Keeps accurate records of time spent working, description of work performed and materials used

  • Is skilled in the use of hand and power tools used in the plumbing trade

  • Has knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and safety practices

  • Has ability to read and follow blueprints and rough drawings

  • Familiar with PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, and copper

  • Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to complete projects unsupervised and unassisted

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Proficiency in basic mathematics and conversion of measurements

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of plumber related experience required, plumbing certificate a plus

  • Possess valid driver’s license

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
