Ensuring Chart’s Success…

The Operations Manager will be responsible for day-to-day oversight of all Warehouse/Inventory and 50% of Air Cooled Heat Exchanger manufacturing operations associated with production in our Beasley, TX manufacturing facility, which designs, manufactures, and services air-cooled heat exchangers, fiberglass fans, and waste water management blower skids.  

The ideal candidate will be a strong leader and results driven. Effective communicator able to formulate and present information to employees, as well as management and customers. Define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, draw conclusions and offer insights and solutions.  This position will require a passion for safety, developing people and processes.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

• Success will be measured based on: Quality, On Time Delivery, Lead Times, Labor Efficiency, Cost, Safety audit and incident rate, Productivity improvements

• Drive a safety-based culture through work practices, procedures and adherence to OSHA regulations

• Develop, establish and implement long range and short-term plans, operation policies, etc. for the location.

• Provide direct leadership of the continuous improvement vision, objectives and developing corrective actions

• Supervise and coordinate the various programs essential to manufacturing, e.g. training, safety, housekeeping, work simplifications, cost reduction, wage and salary administration, plant protection and security, etc.

• Plan and determine direct and indirect manpower requirements based on forecasts.

• Delegate projects to Managerial and Staff Personnel for research, development and evaluation of adaptability, economic feasibility and extent of procedural change.

• Ensure appropriateness of the Quality Policy and effectiveness of Quality System through measures.

• Maintain close surveillance over operations through perusal of reports, staff meetings, observation and personal contact to assure ordinate and integration of work-flow, timely production, budgetary conformance, schedules, and utilization of personnel, skills, machines, equipment and facilities.

• Must demonstrate lean thinking and apply related lean principles that drive waste elimination improving other working capital.

Your Education Should Be…

• Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant experience

• MBA would be preferred

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

Sitting, standing, stooping, bending, other related tasks in an office setting. Must be able to do occasional lifting of up to 35 lbs. as regular daily activities necessitate

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

5-8 years related experience including:

• Managing large production facility of 100+ employees

• Experience with highly engineered products & high volume work load

• Automation of processes

• Experience with developing and utilizing ERP system, and ability to pull data/reports

• Familiar with Lean and Six Sigma techniques

• Demonstrated ability to identify/execute continuous improvement activities

• Demonstrated ability to effectively write and deliver business correspondence
