JBS USA EMT in Beardstown, Illinois

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Provide First Aid treatment to injured employees from various parts of the facility

  • Must be able to carry, lift and maneuver first aid response bag (weighting between 30-40 lbs.), back board, stretcher, AED, wheel chair and any other medical necessities when responding to an accident.

  • Administer, document and track vaccinations (including-Tetanus, Hepatitis B)

  • Perform Drug and Alcohol screening for Powered Industrial Truck operators, and as required

  • Conduct annual hearing testing for facility employees

  • Assist in conducting Daily restrictive duty checks

  • Must be able to document and maintain nursing documentation after each employee visit or communication

  • Must maintain a clean and orderly work area

  • Deliver courteous and professional communications at all times

  • Notify the safety department any time there is a serious accident

  • Must be flexible with work schedule

  • And any other duties as reasonably associated with the above duties as assigned

Working Conditions:

  • Combination of office setting as well as production and maintenance settings

  • Exposure to various chemicals, machinery and knives likely

  • Slippery floors, extreme temperatures and loud noise prevail

Requirements:

Education:

  • High School Degree/GED equivalency required

  • EMT License

  • Must be able to read and write English

  • Spanish a plus, but not required

Hours 10pm -6am

Experience: Entry level

Special Skills: Computer Skills Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook

Relationships:

Internal: Daily communication with employees.

External: May occasionally communicate with the medical community, Third Party Administrators, etc.
