Eaton Corporation Global Maintenance Senior Manager - Mobility Group in Beachwood, Ohio

Eaton’s Mobility Group is seeking a Global Manufacturing Strategy Senior Manager. The preferred location for this position is Southfield, MI, but it could be based at any of our US Mobility Group sites, including Southfield, MI, Athens, GA, Galesburg, MI, Marshall, MI, Indianapolis, IN, South Bend, IN, Carol Stream, IL, Kearney, NE, Kings Mountain, NC, or Roxboro, NC. Relocation assistance to one of these sites is available. Up to 50% travel will be required.

Reporting directly to the Director of Operational Excellence of the Mobility Group, the Senior Manager for Maintenance will be accountable for developing and driving execution of the Global Maintenance Strategy impacting the whole Mobility Group ($3.5B Revenue). This includes Global TPM (total productive maintenance) strategy which will include maintenance systems, deployment of TPM pillars, leverage I4.0 and AI to improve efficiency, talent management (hiring, developing and retaining strategies), impacting the reliability of Machinery for all the 28 sites and different product lines in the Mobility Group. This position has significant influence and impact in key operational metrics like Safety, Quality, Delivery and Productivity across the whole group.

What you’ll do:

In this role, you will design a global maintenance strategy for the group to sustain long-term growth and profitability through operational strategy related with reliability of machinery and consequent impact in key operational metrics mentioned above, and Risk management (BCM). You will work closely with executive leadership of the Mobility Group (Group President, regional Presidents, Global VP of Operations and Regional Operations Leaders) to ensure that maintenance strategies will have multi-year results and impact. You will be responsible for translating business strategy into specific long and short term plans and drive execution through the regions and manufacturing sites. You will be required to develop new concepts and solutions for maintenance while being able to reconcile stakeholders’ perspectives and convey complex information to persuade a diverse and broad audience at different levels. You will also participate in the definition of the new machines in terms of brands and technology ensuring proper standards for the organization.

In partnership with Maintenance Managers in the sites, Plant Managers and Regional Operations Leaders, you will be responsible for the following:

• Implement long term maintenance strategy based on the TPM pillars and lean concepts (Zero breakdown mindset)

• Drive execution with discipline and rigor of the maintenance plans to increase excellence and improve safety, quality, delivery and productivity/OEE (includes alignment with SIOP)

• Integration of preventive, predictive and autonomous maintenance with I4.0 solutions

• Capability to utilize concepts of machine learning to improve predictive maintenance

• Knowledge on how to create clear maintenance scorecards, establish cadence of reviews and define focus areas to keep machines running

• Develop functional competencies across all sites (Plant Managers, Production Managers and Maintenance Managers)

• Develop a strong pipeline of Maintenance leaders across all sites (in partnership with the local HR teams and Maintenance Managers)

• Drive a multi-year plan for investment (Capex) based on the strategic plan specifically for Maintenance to assure both business continuity and new product introductions

Qualifications:

Basic (required) Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of Maintenance experience in a global manufacturer.

• Must have experience leading maintenance for multisite/regional/global business.

• Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.

• Background in lean manufacturing and TPM (total productive maintenance).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience within the vehicle/automotive industry.

• MBA from an accredited institution strongly preferred.

• Experience with multiple key processes (fabrication, stamping, molding, electronic, etc.).

Position Criteria:

• Subject matter expertise in all relevant areas of Maintenance.

• Significant hands on experience on Maintenance programs implementation on a global scale in a highly diverse environment.

• A strong knowledge and experience of both the tactical and strategic side of maintenance strategies and Experience in Continuous improvement programs, Safety and Quality

• Operations management experience in different business models like: low mix / high volume, high mix / low volume and engineered to order environments

• A successful candidate for this position must convey complex information and be able to develop communication strategies, to persuade persuades significantly diverse audiences.

• Must have the ability to drive strategy discussions with multiple stakeholder perspectives to resolve conflicts and drive goal accomplishment

• Ability and willingness to objectively tackle complex high-level operational challenges using a practical combination of traditional and innovative methods. Strategic (macro) perspective when analyzing trends or planning for the future.

• Professional presence with the confidence and leadership ability to convey need and vision at all levels.

• Strong collaborative bias towards recognizing and assembling the right team to accomplish the corporate objectives.

• Decisive and able to make controversial decisions to achieve greater value.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $136500.03 - $200200.04 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
