Responsibilities

  • Complies with all site health, safety, and environmental policies

  • Provides technical expertise with the installation, maintenance, and service of electrical systems

  • Maintains electrical equipment to meet or exceed mechanical integrity standards

  • Provides technical expertise for unit support

  • Assists with installation, acceptance testing, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment up to 138kV

  • Safely completes troubleshooting for electrical medium voltage equipment

  • Identifies opportunities for equipment repair cost reduction

  • Maintains and/or increases the quality of repairs to minimize or eliminate re-work

  • Performs, creates, and examines thermal imaging reports

  • Evaluates work requests for routine and shutdown electrical work

Responsibilities (continued)

  • Utilizes SAP and Meridium to track work progress, complete job confirmations, provide repair feedback, update equipment history and search through bill of material (BOM) for parts

  • Assists with managing and coordinating expense, capital projects, and turnarounds

  • Provides direction and technical help to contract electricians

  • Uses, updates, and maintains electrical equipment documentation (including drawings, manuals, procedures for data entry into the database) for maintenance, projects, and turnarounds

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED, plus a 4-year Certified Electrical Apprenticeship Certificate OR associate degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or related field

  • Experience related to manufacturing electrical

  • Understanding of the NFPA70, 70E, and 70B

  • Knowledge of electrical distribution systems up to 138 kV

  • Knowledge and ability to exercise circuit breakers up to 138kV

  • Ability to define problems and draw conclusions in challenging technical situations (pulling drawings, utilizing electronic document systems, consulting vendor manuals)

  • Proficient in CMMS/SAP and Microsoft Office

  • Ability to interpret and understand electrical drawings, one lines, schematics, PLC logic, and equipment manuals

  • Ability to diagnose and locate circuit, component, and equipment faults

  • Experience with motor starter/switch gear troubleshooting for A/C and D/C systems

  • Accommodate overtime hours and provide call-out support within the assigned timeframe

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing plant process maintenance. (Electrical and/or Instrument Technology)

  • Ability to interact with other departments for equipment repairs

  • Knowledge of PLC/electrical network design, software programming, and hardware implementation

  • Knowledge of protective relay function, data download, troubleshooting, and alarm (first out) diagnosis

  • Level II NETA OR NICET Certification or higher
