Mersen USA Machinist Class I in Bay City, Michigan

Pay Range: $19/hr - $23/hr

General Description:

Set up, adjust and operate machines to perform diversified and difficult operations on work having close and exacting tolerances. Could involve several unusual contours and finish specifications frequently involving the improvision of machines and tooling to accomplish results where operations require a broad knowledge of machining technology, operating skills and shop techniques together with long term diversified experience, minimum supervision required.

Exemplary Duties/Responsibilities:

Plan and determine set up procedures and operating sequences from blueprints. Select tooling, attachments, spindle speeds, tool feed rates, machine and size of work piece, material securing methods best suited for the operation.

Proceed with a minimal amount of supervision, work from complex, involved sectionalized part drawings and specifications. Check work to assure dimensional conformance and use a wide range of precision measuring instruments and devices to set up, operate and check work. Sign off final inspection reports where required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Suggested high school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Accredited journeyman apprenticeship plus four or five years of diversified experience.
