Position Summary:

Performs nursing procedures/treatments in the home within scope of practice. Works under the direction of the registered professional nurse.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1.

Performs a variety of basic nursing procedures under the direction of a registered nurse which may include, but are not limited to, wound care, wound irrigations, medication administration, catheterization, range of motion exercises and glucose monitoring.

2.

If the LPN is appropriately qualified, prepares and administers oral, rectal, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intradermal and topical medications to patients per policy and procedure. Observes patient response to medication, records unexpected reactions and reports them to the registered nurse.

3.

Identifies common patient problems, symptoms and reactions through monitoring

Required:

  • Current licensure with the Michigan State Board of Nursing.

  • Two years current nursing experience.

  • Current CPR certification.

  • Valid Driver’s license and proof of car insurance.
