JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

Opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to join Adient's automotive metal seat frame welding plant in Battle Creek, MI. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, planned, and emergency maintenance in a production environment. The shift hours for this second shift role are: 1:45pm-10:15pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Maintenance Technician is responsible for fixing equipment as needed, changeovers, PMs and troubleshooting of equipment.

  • Must be able to troubleshoot conditions in a production setting.

  • Ability and willingness to diagnose and repair the mechanical, hydraulic and electrical aspects of a wide variety of machines.

  • Working knowledge of PLC's

  • Perform quality checks.

  • Complete all required and applicable training required by Adient and its customers.

Education / Experience / Skills

  • High School Education or Equivalent (GED)

  • Journeyman Card from the Department of Labor preferred.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Card from the Department of Labor preferred. Degree or certification from a college or university is required if you do not possess a Journeyman's card.

  • Previous experience working as a Millwright, Electrician or Machine repair in an automotive manufacturing environment.

  • Experience working in an automotive sheet metal stamping facility.

  • Experience with large transfer and progressive dies a plus

  • Able to lift 40 lbs. frequently depending upon rework.

  • Standing 8 or more hours, walking to assist in seat build, rework, etc.

  • Ability to solve problems and work with support personnel.
