Capital City Staffing, LLC Forklift Mechanic in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

We are currently seeking a skilled Forklift Mechanic to join our team at a large, well-established distribution facility in Plaquemine, LA.

Description:As a Forklift Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of forklifts to ensure their safe and efficient operation in our distribution facility.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform routine maintenance on forklifts, including oil changes, filter replacements, and brake inspections.
  2. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on forklifts.
  3. Conduct thorough inspections of forklifts to identify any potential problems or safety hazards.
  4. Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed on each forklift.
  5. Order replacement parts and maintain inventory of spare parts.
  6. Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to prioritize and complete repair tasks.
  7. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while performing maintenance and repair work.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of two years of experience as a forklift mechanic or in a similar role.
  2. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  3. Knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and diesel engines.
  4. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  5. High school diploma or equivalent.
  6. Valid driver's license.

Type:Full-time, permanent position

Pay Rate:Competitive salary based on experience

Schedule:Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional overtime as needed.
