TECHNICAL ILLUSTRATOR

At our Batavia, NY facility, our work is focused on building equipment specifically designed to protect the health of our troops while protecting the environment. While delivering on this mission, our workplace will allow you to expand your technical knowledge, develop new skills, and build on the strengths and qualifications you bring to the job. The illustrators at EWS work closely with engineers, designers, and technical writers to ensure accuracy and clarity in conveying information. The illustrators have a keen understanding of the design, goal and problems our products attempt to solve. Our illustrators will create material that enhances existing products or can support the creation of new programs and products with custom visual guides.

Responsibilities: Work with technical and engineering teams to develop accurate technical illustrations used in technical manuals, product development plans, and other documentation Incorporate feedback from subject matter experts to refine illustrations and ensure accuracy in conveying technical information Maintain consistency in visual style and format across all illustrations to ensure a cohesive and professional appearance (e.g. in accordance with applicable MILSTD) Manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and project timelines Use SolidWorks to manipulate 3D models and generate required illustration files Maintain a secure, well-organized 3D Design Library Process illustrations as required, using image processing applications such as GIMP and Photoshop Create new artwork, based on engineering department needs Assist in the organization and placement of graphics in technical manuals

Requirements: Must reside in NY State, preferably the Finger Lakes Region or Western New York High level proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, SolidWorks, Photoshop and/or GIMP Preference for those with 3D animation and video editing skills Preference for those with experience in creating MIL-STD-40051-2C documentation Excellent organizational, communication, and prioritization skills Attend worksite in Batavia for in-person interview, if requested, and for technical/product training
