Job Overview:

The Quality Inspector applies their conceptual knowledge of inspection and, with a moderate level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving a range of straightforward inspection problems. They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures and building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The Quality Inspector understands key business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents. Responsible for inspection of materials and equipment intended for offshore and onshore structure to ensure compliance to an international code/standard and customer specification.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect structural and piping materials to ensure compliance to the material standard and customer specification

  • Inspect vendor equipment for offshore platform

  • Organizes a joint inspection team with the customer and production engineer for offshore equipment package

  • Performs PMI for all exotic materials for fabrication structures

  • Report to QC Material Supervisor/Engineer for any material deficiencies not in compliance with the requirements.

  • Liaise with QC Material Supervisor/Engineer for any Material & Equipment OS&D

  • Performs inspection at vendor premises for stockiest material prior to delivery to the fabrication yard

  • Liaise with warehouse receiving group on inspection of the material

  • Verify conformance of delivery note to purchase order of each line item for size, quantity, grade, of material etc.

  • Visual Inspection of damage, surface defect such as pit marks, scab etc.

  • Transfer Material Traceability Number (MTN) on the material inspected

  • Identify and quarantine the items that are on HOLD/REJECT to avoid issue on such items

  • High standard of safe working practice, quality and productivity as well as compliance with the code of business conduct

  • Determine product conformity to customer specifications through daily surveillances and ITP inspection points in accordance with the Project Quality Plan

  • Identify non-conformity for rectification and ensure final resolution

  • Appraise product quality to determine conformity and non-conformity in accordance with the approved drawings and inspection & Test Plan; All inspection results need to be documented, and if non-conformity exists, documentation shall be raised to establish corrective action

  • Coordinate interface with Operations, Certifying Authority, Client, Job Sharing personnel, and subcontractor, assuring the conformity to project specifications

  • Exercise a proactive approach to the prevention of a problem by interacting with Production, Engineers, and Management personnel

  • Liaise with customer representatives, ensuring product conformity and stage release for each activity denoted within the Project Quality Plan/ITP

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Minimum Senior High school or possess relevant experience

  • 7+ years Quality Control or related experience in material inspection

  • Fluent in English oral and written
