What you’ll do:

1.1 This position is responsible for designing, developing, coordinating and deploying work procedures and associated process controls as it relates to quality. Review customer/industry/internal specifications to ensure compliance. Facilitate quality processes for transfer of work to and from our facility. This role is part of a high-performance work team and will work closely with operations and manufacturing engineering.

1.2 Implement customer specific requirements, maintain quality system.

  1. Support first production runs using AS9102 First Article Inspection reports to demonstrate that all engineering design and specification requirements are properly understood and documented.

  2. Upload manufacturing and quality related data into customer portals and systems as required.

  3. Support the review, containment and disposition of deviations, non-conforming material and product escapes / returns through fast response communications and quality alerts, and leveraging root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques (i.e. 8D and A3) to identify and drive closure of corrective and preventive actions.

  4. Develop, review and update control plans, and test and inspection procedures to ensure critical risks are identified and manufacturing processes are carried out under controlled conditions.

  5. Monitor, analyze, and ultimately reduce process variation using statistical process controls, and partner with operations to reduce the cost of poor quality (e.g. scrap, defects, customer complaints, etc.) and drive continuous improvement (e.g. support kaizen events, daily tier meetings, etc.).

  6. Regularly review and provide feedback on our Quality Management System and participate in audits to improve the effectiveness of our QMS and ensure alignment with IS0 9001, AS9100, AS13100, and other 3rd party certification bodies and customer requirements.

  7. Improve and control key / critical processes to ensure compliance to product and customer requirements.

  8. Investigate quality issues and work with Engineering / Production to provide effective corrective/preventive action to eliminate recurrence.

  9. Reduce internal rework (together with Production & Engineering) to minimize impact to CONC, OTD and manufacturing cost.

  10. Support Engineering team and develop quality plan for new product introduction to ensure effective quality control in product development phase.

  11. Develop quality dynamic control plan, procedure, work instruction and inspection standards for new process/capability introduction to reduce cost of quality.

  12. Conduct regular process FMEA, in-process audit, supplier audit to validate process and quality system compliance.

  13. Track and follow-up all corrective/preventive actions from internal, external and customer audits.

  14. Implement and maintain all quality programs required by customer and accreditation bodies.

  15. Perform any other task that may be assigned by the Senior QE or QA manager.

Qualifications:

Degree in Mechanical / Material / Aeronautical Engineering

• At least 3 year experience in manufacturing environment

Skills:

Gaps Analysis (GA) and compliance for Aerospace Materials Specifications (AMS), ex AMS 5596, 5544

• First Article Inspection (Part Number Accountability, Product Accountability (Materials, Special Processes, and Functional Testing) and Characteristic Accountability (Verification and Compatibility Evaluation)

• PRODUCT VERIFICATION (INSPECTION TEST / RESULTS) and PRODUCT ACCEPTANCE

• Knowledge of COBALT BASE ALLOY POWDER B50TF190, COBALT BASE ALLOY THERMAL SPRAYED COATING F50TF45, GENERAL SPECIFICATION FOR VENDOR DESIGNED PARTS M50TF9 & IDENTIFICATION MARKING METHODS AS478

• Technical proficiency in Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) models

• Thorough understanding of machining, welding, assembly operations, gauging, SPC, APQP, and quality assurance systems (ISO 9001, AS9100)

• Demonstrated work experience in reading and interpreting blueprints or engineering specification and Ballooned drawing

• Highly conversant in Microsoft Office application software.

• Sound command of written & spoken English

• Must be able to work with little or no supervision and be a self-motivated individual.
