Jennie-O Turkey Store Wash/Disinfectant Operator, Barron, WI in Barron, Wisconsin

Responsibilities:

  • To wash and disinfect turkey production facilities in a safe and organized manner, ensuring that all company policies are followed.

  • Assist all support areas of live production.

  • Work every other weekend replacing Farm Managers and or washing unless otherwise instructed.

  • Perform repairs, maintenance on equipment, and construction on projects as assigned by supervisor.

  • Follow sanitation and isolation procedures using tracking patterns.

  • Follow safety policies and procedures as recommended.

  • Communicate with supervisor on a regular basis to receive work orders as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

  • This position has the possibility of progression to Farm Operator with a Grade 5 pay

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Basic math skills/Able to read and write at 4th grade level/Able to work scheduled weekends and holidays

  • Supply reliable transportation for travel to work sites/Able to meet all sanitation requirements

  • Cannot own or raise any type of fowl (i.e. turkeys, chickens, geese, pheasants, parakeets, etc.)

  • No performance work actions in the last 6 months

  • No attendance work actions in the last 6 months

  • Must possess a valid driver's license & able to meet JOTS driving qualifications

  • Able to work in a smoke free environment/Must be 21 yrs old & able to obtain a Medical Card

  • PHYSICAL: Work in a dusty environment with ammonia present in all weather conditions while using approved respiratory protection/Facial hair must not compromise respirator face to mask seal-no bears

  • Twisting/stooping/bend/squat/lift/carry/reach while handling turkeys/feed/litter/equipment 10 lbs. - 50 lbs. from occasionally to a frequent basis/Able to work on uneven surfaces/Able ti drive a manual transmission

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Previous animal husbandry experience and/or a farm background (two years)

  • Bobcat tractor experience

  • Able to use and operate high pressure washer

  • Small engine/pump repair experience
