Jennie-O Turkey Store Production Lead Person Ground Sausage, Barron, WI in Barron, Wisconsin

Responsibilities:

  • Assist new employees

  • Continue work hardening and all other training necessary to prepare the trainee for positions in the Scale Link & Patty Area

  • Assist supervisor in following and documenting a training program

  • Learn to operate all machines and scales in department

  • Provide new employees with exemplary work behavior including attendance, safety and personal hygiene

  • Administer directions for the proper care and use of PPE's

  • Communicate to the supervisor as to the progress of the employees

  • Perform any additional tasks or responsibilities as required

  • Help with area coverage in the absence of the supervisor

  • Ability to work with pork products

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Good organizational skills/Ability to learn and do all jobs in the department

  • Good verbal and written communication skills/Ability to speak and write English

  • Complete knowledge of machine safety procedures and operations

  • Good work history/Ability to work with minimum supervision

  • Ability to obtain forklift, riderjack PV3R and hand jack license

  • Basic math skills

  • No performance work actions in the last 6 months

  • No attendance work actions in the last 6 months

  • PHYSICAL: No restrictions lifting 50 pounds

  • No restrictions pushing 500 pound v-mags

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience on a department safety committee

  • Six months experience in the department or equivalent training

  • Basic computer skills

  • Excellent problem solving skills and public speaking ability
