NOVA Technologies Technical Editor Sr CM/DM in Barksdale Afb, Louisiana

Under general supervision, the Technical Editor may review, write, and edit technical reports, brochures, and/or manuals for internal documentation, customer reference, or publication. This person researches and analyzes available literature and verifies copy with appropriate departments and may coordinate production and distribution of materials.?

  • Revises or writes material that is mostly standardized for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods and procedures, and installation, operation, and maintenance of machinery and other equipment.?

``` - The incumbent receives assignment and technical information from supervisor or engineering personnel through notes, drawings, or manuals containing operating procedures and details, and may observe production, developmental or engineering activities to expand or verify the provided operating procedures and details.?

``` - Accesses manufacturers catalogs, drawings and other data relative to operation, maintenance, and service of equipment, may have access to blueprints, sketches, drawings, parts lists, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail.?

Education and Experience

  • Associates degree in business related field, plus minimum 5 years direct related experience writing, editing, and coordination of technical publications, manuals, or other resource documentation.

Supervisory Responsibility This position will not have authority or responsibility for the leadership and supervision of others.

Work Environment Programs, and Tools

While working in an office environment, this position will frequently be required to sit, talk, listen, use eye acuity, be on camera, and use hands/fingers to grasp or type. This position will also occasionally require walking, standing, stooping, lifting, and bending.

This position will also frequently require the individual to use the following tools, equipment, or programs: Computer, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project), and Deltek Costpoint.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This position will be on site at Barksdale AFB, LA and will require adherence to the Government site hours of operation. This position is a full-time hourly non-exempt position, expected to work at least 40 hours a week. This position may require evening/weekend work and work outside of the Government site hours of operations when Program support is needed.?

Travel

Significant travel is not expected for this position.

Security Clearance

Must have an active DoD Secret Personnel Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one within the first 6-months of employment.
