GE Aerospace Electronic Design Engineer in Bari, Italy

Job Description Summary

As Electronic Design Engineer you will be responsible to drive design solutions and implementation for components, complex electronic hardware, assemblies and subsystems of the Electrical System for both full authority-based (e.g. FADEC) and hybrid electric-based propulsion systems.

You will also be responsible to liaise with independent organization or suppliers and to provide technical and programmatic guidance on components, complex assemblies and subsystems design, validation and execution and to perform, with limited guidance, analysis and evaluation of the third parties’ deliverables compliance with product/program requirements and business standards, practices and procedures.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • To define, develop and document electronic and electrical components, complex assemblies and subsystems requirements and designs relevant, but not limited to, electronic signal and control processing units and boards, based on complex electronics, for electrical power drives and engine actuation systems, engine sensors and accessories.

  • To analyze, define or validate system and subsystem requirements and data

  • To carry out trade-off and performance analysis and validation studies aiming at drawing the optimal electronic assembly/sub-assembly architectural solutions and detailed designs. To support and perform testing, validation activities, system integration, to assure the compliance with product/program requirements

  • To liaise with the engineering team stakeholders in the execution of the project development, product definition, technology maturation activities.

  • To contribute to suppliers steering and performance monitoring to ensure the overall Control System integration and compliance with the intended functions.

  • To contribute to the formulation and implementation of plans to achieve technical requirements and schedules commitments.

  • To contribute to technical and program reviews.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Master Degree in Electronics (preferred), Electrical or Mechatronics from an accredited University

  • Experience in Elecronit hardware design within engineering roles

  • Knowledge of Control System discipline including sensors design, selection and acquisition

  • Experience in design, simulation and testing of analog and digital circuits

  • Knowledge of interface for sensors and actuators

  • Experience with analog and digital high speed signals and related PCB constraints

  • Experience with bus and standards for on-board and board-to-board communication

  • Knowledge of signal integrity and EMI aspects applied in design and testing activities

  • Strong

  • Proficiency in written and oral English and Italian

  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required
